Ets. Jean-Pierre Moueix

Château Hosanna

2014

Pomerol

In the spring of 1999, Ets. Jean-Pierre MOUEIX purchased the Château CERTAN GIRAUD from the eponymous family. The property was divided in two parts, one of which was sold. The remaining acreage, located on the famous plateau of Pomerol, was renamed HOSANNA, a name which evokes praise and acclamation. It faces Château PETRUS and lies between Château LAFLEUR and VIEUX Château CERTAN.

Winemaking

The beautiful red gravel soil has layers of clay; the vines are between 25 and 50 years of age, with an average of 40 years and quite a high percentage of Cabernet Franc. Since the acquisition, extensive work has been carried out in the vineyard, including the installation of new drainage and wells.

Tasting Notes

Château HOSANNA marries elegance and depth and could become, thanks to the delicate touch of the Cabernet Franc, a feminine counterpart to Château PETRUS.
