San Francisco Chronicle - Olivia Wu - August 31, 2007

2.5 stars (Good-Exce "Tastes like a village Burgundy with floral notes and heady perfume suggesting rose petals veiled over strawberries. Yet there are also earthy, wet clay hints, and tannins that grip all the way to the end. Made entirely from Pinot Noir, it's a winner, especially if you like a light bodied Burgundy with great maturity and balance."

International Wine Cellar - Josh Raynolds - March 2007

92 Points "Medium straw. Deep, forceful aromas of blood orange, lime and floral honey, with complicating sage, tarragon and quinine notes. Very concentrated and chewy, with tangy citrus and quince flavors joined by licorice and cracked pepper on the back. Finishes with superb definition and persistence. Give this a few years in the cellar and serve it as you would a grand cru Chablis."

International Wine Cellar - Josh Raynolds - March 2007

90 Points "Light yellow. Intense citrus, pear, mineral and floral honey aromas, with a hint of baking spices. Full and ripe but also focused, with pure citrus and orchard fruit flavors brightened by tangy mineral notes and deepened by a suggestion of sweet butter. The zesty finish boasts impressive depth and length. I've had 20-year-old versions of this wine that were remarkably fresh and complex."

International Wine Cellar - Steve Tanzer - April 2004

90 Points "Intriguing scents of ginger, flowers, pear, snap peas and white tobacco. Then leanish and uncompromising, with strong mineral flavors of grapefruit, ginger and crushed stone. Long, slightly earthy finish."

92 Points "Lovely elegance here, with floral, stone, chalk and white peach flavors augmented by touches of smoke and nuts. Flavors build on the finish, where the texture gains depth and creaminess. Nice definition. Impressive. Could still be cellared some, too. Drink now through 2006."

Wine Review Online - Michael Franz - February 23, 2010

91 Points "This famous estate and its amazing Château de Nozet have become such fixtures in the world of wine that one could almost forget that it is also the source of some of the world’s best Sauvignon Blanc. If you’d hesitate to buy a Pouilly-Fumé from 2006 (which is indeed the current release), this is a bottle to buy especially for that reason, since the wine can teach a valuable lesson about the capacity of top Loire Sauvignons to acquire additional complexities with age while still remaining taut and fresh. In this instance the core of lemon/lime fruit is enhanced by lots of little nuances and a very prominent minerality in the finish. Highly detailed, this is an enduringly interesting drink that seems to unfold a new element with every successive sip."

Wine Spectator - James Molesworth - June 15, 2008

89 points "Pure and well-detailed, with straw, chamomile, lemon thyme and mineral notes that glide through a creamy-textured palate. Long, stony finish. Drink now through 2009."

Wine & Spirits - Peter Liem - April 2008

90 Points One of the Year's Best Sauvignon Blancs (June 2008 issue) "Vibrant and lively, this show fragrant aromas of peach, pear and guava packed into a sleekly muscular frame. It's rich in body yet never feels heavy, supported by crisp acidity that balances the weight and elongates that flavors on the finish."

Creative Loafing - Taylor Eason - January 02, 2008

4 Stars "This French Sauvignon Blanc is positively pretty. Rich and gentle acidity yet lively with tart lime, minerally slate and a delicious finish of earthy chamomile tea. Unique."

The Wine Advocate - David Schildknecht - August 2007

91 Points "The Ladoucette flagship 2005 Pouilly-Fume...presents the nose with gooseberry, cassis, peach, lime and positively sneeze-inducing pungency of lavender and catnip. As is always the case, at its best this wine achieves a superb combination of textural richness and ripe fruit with pungent herbal- mineral shadings, and refreshing citrus. There is real lift in its persistent finish of perfumed herbs, fruit pits, chalk dust, and citrus zest."

Wine Spectator - James Molesworth - May 30, 2007

90 Points "Has a lovely texture, with the creaminess up front, backed by mineral, sea salt, lemon curd and floral notes. The finish is long and pure. Very pretty. Drink now."

International Wine Cellar - Josh Raynolds - March 2007

90 Points "Light gold. Ripe pear, white peach and baked apple on the nose, with an exotic twist of orange peel. Soft, round and supple, with ripe orchard and citrus flavors, gentle acidity and a long, almost sweet finish. This is delicious, and would pair well with richer dishes."

Recommended Summer W "It continues to be an excellent white, with minerals that give it grounding and some nice floral notes. This is a wine with guts, not a simple white wine. If you are serving grilled salmon or cold shrimp at a party, this is your wine."
