93 Points "The 2011 Batar is striking in this vintage. Peach, mint, jasmine, Chamomile, honey and almond notes all flesh out in the glass. Ample, resonant and rich on the palate, the 2011 impresses for its balance, class and harmony. Once again, Batar is one of the most distinctive Tuscan whites. Batar is 50% Chardonnay and 50% Pinot Blanc, with the Pinot Blanc adding an element of freshness that was absolutely critical in this precocious vintage. The 2011 will be appealing young, but it is also a wine that ages very well, and I imagine it will be even better in another year or two. The 2011 was fermented in barrel, with some lees stirring, where it spent nine months prior to being racked into cement for blending and bottling."
90 Points “Toasty, displaying vanilla, clove, nutmeg, butterscotch and baked apple flavors. Balanced, this wine is rich in texture, with a long finish."
90 Points "This oak-aged blend of equal parts Pinot Bianco and Chardonnay opens with a beautifully intense bouquet of vanilla bean, peach cobbler and citrus mousse. White almond and toasted spice make for rich accents on the long fresh finish."
91 Points "Aromas similar to pineapple ice cream and apples follow through to a full body, with lots of fruit and firm acidity. Delicious now, but better in 2012. Biodynamically produced."
89 Points "The 2009 Batàr shows good up-front fleshiness in its juicy apricots, peaches and light floral honey although some of the intial depth in the wine tapers off on the finish. Batàr has a track record of developing beautifully in bottle. It will be interesting to see the direction the 2009 takes. Today, it appears a measure of minerality is lacking in comparison to the finest vintages."

Batàr is 50% Pinot Blanc and 50% Chardonnay aged in French oak barrels, 50% new."

92 points "An intense, minerally nose, with notes of bitter almond, sultana and ripe melon, leads to a full-bodied palate, with rich mineral character and lemony acidity. There's a velvety, almost tannic texture on the long finish. Compact. Powerful and impressive."
91 Points "Querciabella's Batar...is quite possibly the most elegant, refined white being made in Tuscany today. Those qualities are on display in the sublime 2007. Ripe, succulent peaches, apricots, smoke, honey, spices and sweet toasted oak all come together with unusual grace. The oak is especially well-balanced in this vintage. Simply put, the 2007 Batar is a gem."
90 points "The 2006 Batar is one of the small handful of truly distinctive whites being made in Tuscany. This lush, full-bodied wine reveals ripe peaches, cantaloupe, jasmine, honey, spices and toasted oak on a soft-textured, medium-bodied frame. Still quite primary today, it will acquire further nuance and put on weight with further bottle age. Anticipated maturity: 2008-2016."
90 points "Fresh apple, flower and light toffee aromas follow through to a full body, with a round texture and a long, rich finish. There's loads of fruit and character, yet this is refined."
90 Points "The estate’s barrel-aged 2005 Batar...is consistently one of Italy’s finest whites. The 2005 presents attractive suggestions of jasmine, peaches and sweet tropical fruit on a medium-bodied frame buttressed by a lively note of minerality. While the 2005 is not one of the more opulent Batars, it is nonetheless a very finessed wine that is sure to find many admirers. Anticipated maturity: 2007-2017."
92 Points "During a recent visit to the estate I had the opportunity to taste every Batar back to 1995 and there can be no question that in top vintages it is a wine that is capable of developing further complexity with age. The standout of that tasting was the sublime 2004 Batar...which captures the fullest expression of this wine. Endowed with layers of sweet fruit interwoven with mineral and sweet toasted oak notes, it offers outstanding length on the palate in a more full-bodied style than the slender 2005, with notable finesse and terrific overall balance. Although it can be enjoyed today, this wine has a history of filling out its frame with some bottle age. It is not to be missed. Anticipated maturity: 2007-2019."
