Château Lafleur Gazin Château Lafleur Gazin 2012

Overview

Lying between the two famous châteaux LAFLEUR and GAZIN, this estate has belonged to the current owner Madame Delfour-Borderie’s family for the past three generations and has been farmed by the Etablissements Jean-Pierre Moueix since 1976. The vines, on average 30 years old, are planted on 21 acres with varied soils such as sand, where the Cabernet Franc shows its full character. Twenty percent of the vineyard is planted with Cabernet Franc - quite a high proportion for Pomerol. The remaining 80 percent is planted with Merlot vines grown on the gravelly part of the property. The vineyard management and the vinification are carried out traditionally and with the same care as on the other MOUEIX properties.

Tasting Notes

Château Lafleur-Gazin generally has a deep color, vivid nose and good texture backed by a firm tannic structure. A few years of cellaring will ensure full enjoyment.
