Régnard Aloxe Corton Pinot Noir 2014

Overview

Régnard, one of the oldest and most prestigious houses in Chablis, was founded in 1860 by Zéphir Régnard. In 1984, Baron Patrick de Ladoucette purchased Régnard and has perpetuated the style and tradition of the wines ever since. As a result of a summery springtime, the vines started to flower exceptionally early this was followed by a very autumnal summer both fresh and capricious. The final maturing of the grapes was achieved under a lovely blue September sky. The red wines have an intense colour and a very fruity bouquet with a dense and balanced palate. The whites are chiselled, very expressive and pure.

Winemaking

The grapes are picked by hand followed by an alcoholic fermentation in vats and malolactic fermentation in oak barrels. The wine is then clarified and left to mature in the bottle.

Tasting Notes

An intense ruby red with cherry highlights. The bouquet is dominated by the aromas of violets and spicy notes and nuances of pepper. The palate is fine and elegant noted for its melting tannins which reveal themselves slowly.
