Régnard Hautes Côtes De Beaune Rouge 2022

Overview

Régnard, one of the oldest and most prestigious houses in Chablis, was founded in 1860 by Zéphir Régnard. In 1984, Baron Patrick de Ladoucette purchased Régnard and has perpetuated the style and tradition of the wines ever since.

The Hautes-Côtes de Beaune vineyards back onto the plateau and the hillsides in the network of valleys to the west of the Grande Côte. The altitude here varies between 350 and 500 meters above sea level. The grapes take longer to mature than on the Côte. This appellation presents wines with a sombre colour with fruity aromas. The wine is very fresh when young developing into aromas of glacé fruits with hints of animal as it matures.

Winemaking

The grapes are picked by hand followed by an alcoholic and malolactic fermentation in vats. The wine is then matured in vats followed by fining with egg whites before being bottled.
