Now well matured, this Port has depth and a good balance between a dry core and sweet dried fruits. The wine is ready to drink but will also age at least until 2028.

“Located in the World Heritage Site of Foz Côa, this vineyard makes impressively structured wines and Ports. This new release is still intensely young, full of black fruits with richness from foot treading during fermentation. Drink this powerful wine from 2027.”

“The terraced Urtiga is a legendary vineyard planted to 63 different indigenous varieties, with the average vine age well over 100 years. This wine, a flagship of an entire region, shows bright and lively despite its definitively ripe character. Aromas of smoked cedar, crushed stone, desert scrub and violets denote the wine's elegance. Its palate is ripe yet energetic, with a core of spiced plum and berry fruits framed by balsamic strawberry character, smoky ember and stone minerality, and savoury spices.”

“From a beautifully located estate in the Douro Superior, this was shared with friends on my birthday in July last year, and it's a perfect summer Port: russet tawny with rich, ripe aromas and a backdrop of spicy caramel. Still fruit-driven on the palate, there's soft, ripe summer fruit and a lovely mellow texture spiced with a dusting of tannins, leading to a rich, voluptuous finish. Serve cool but don’t overchill.”

Individual and stoical with a brightness and charm redolent of cola, blackcurrant, and bitter cherry. Purity in evidence with incredible structure. Long lived this will be!
