“The 2020 Pichon Lalande is blended from 77% Cabernet Sauvignon, 17% Merlot, and 6% Cabernet Franc but without any Petit Verdot and it has a deep garnet-purple color. It is a touch closed to start off, before soaring out of the glass with notes of juicy blueberries, black raspberries and fresh blackcurrant, plus hints of pencil shavings, cinnamon stick, red roses, and Ceylon tea, with a waft of dark chocolate. Medium to full-bodied, the palate has a rock-solid structure of grainy tannins and seamless freshness supporting the taut, muscular black and blue fruits, finishing long and fragrant.”

“A blend of 71% Cabernet Sauvignon, 23% Merlot, and 6% Cabernet Franc but without any Petit Verdot, the 2019 Pichon Lalande is deep garnet-purple in color. It waltzes out with bright, carefree scents of wild blueberries, kirsch, and juicy blackcurrants, leading to hints of lilacs, wood smoke, and menthol. The medium to full-bodied palate is fantastically plush, with bags of freshness and layers of pure black and blue fruits, finishing long and perfumed.”

“One of the greatest wines that this estate has produced in the modern era, the 2016 Pichon Longueville Comtesse de Lalande is a brilliant classic that no Bordeaux lover is going to want to do without. Mingling aromas of cassis and plums with notions of licorice, sweet tobacco leaf, rich soil tones, licorice, cigar smoke and violets, it's full-bodied, seamless and complete, with huge concentration, bright acids and a long, penetrating finish. Standing out for its unerring precision, impeccable balance and ineffable sense of completeness, it should prove almost immortal. ”

“The 2019 Reserve de la Comtesse is composed of 51% Cabernet Sauvignon, 46% Merlot, and 3% Cabernet Franc. Deep garnet-purple colored, it opens with savory notions of smoked meats, tapenade, and sauteed herbs, giving way to a core of red and black currants, pencil shavings, and cracked pepper with a waft of cumin seed. Medium-bodied, elegant, and with impressive savory layers, it has a fine-grained texture and earthy finish.”

“A pretty red with blackberry, cherry and currant. Some chocolate and walnut, too. It’s medium-bodied with integrated tannins and a polished finish. Hazelnut at the end. Drink after 2024.”
