Lithe and graceful, this red plays cherry and strawberry fruit and white pepper against balsamic notes of eucalyptus and menthol. Firms up on the finish, where dense tannins leave their grip. Best from 2028 through 2043.

Here stands a legend that helped put Friuli on the map. The aromatics roll and evolve in the glass: ripe cut peach mingles with fresh apple and a citrus medley of lemon, lime and orange. Subtle oak spices hover in the background like a whisper, accompanied by delicate yellow flowers and magnolia blossoms. The palate unfolds luxuriously... first tropical fruit notes gracefully transition into tangy citrus cream. Everything stays elegant and poised through the finish thanks to perfectly pitched acidity. The 2023 Napanook is deep, bold and luscious right out of the gate. Black cherry, lavender, dried herbs and graphite fill out its mid-weight frame quite nicely. I expect the 2023 will drink well with minimal cellaring, as it is already quite open and doesn't quite have the tannic palate presence of more important years.

The 2023 Dominus is a very pretty, surprisingly open-knit wine from this estate. Soft contours wrap around a core of pliant red/purplish fruit. Lavender, rose petal and gently spiced overtones caress the mid-palate and finish. I expect the 2023 will drink well with minimal cellaring, something that is rarely the case here.

This is green-gold and bright, the aroma ripe and generous, with hints of mango and honeysuckle garlanding the citric core, fulsome in deference to a very sunny year. The palate is mealy, creamy, and rich, the combination of élevage in sandstone and predominantly new barrels forging an impressive structure, which will need a little more time to settle. The region has ensured, however, that there is plentiful acidity and a rich, chalky substratum that will underwrite the quality ofthe evolution.
