A well-cut white, with touches of mountain herbs lending a savory edge to flavors of crunchy white peach, pineapple, blanched almond and graphite. Finely balanced and elegant, with a lasting, mouthwatering finish. Drink now through 2032.

Yellow apples, Meyer lemons and toasted marshmallows on the nose. The light- to medium-bodied palate balances creaminess with flavors of citrus, crushed white nuts and almond skin. Notes of savory herbs and ginger as well. A pleasant, easy-drinking, good-value wine. Drink now.

Such beautiful harmony of vivid fruit and aged complexity. Expect black tea, persimmons, chocolate, dates, saffron and just a hint of caramel. Medium- to full-bodied and well-knit, this has a lush, lingering finish with a touch of bittersweet oranges at the end. Pure and intense. So delicious now.

The 2023 Côte-Rôtie Seigneur de Maugiron leads with dried violets, assertive black cherry and pencil shavings alongside smoky tones. Sparks of orange blossom add more florality. Medium-bodied, round and juicy, the racy 2023 levels off with a zesty slice of blood orange and plentiful vitality on the refined finale.

The 2021 Barolo Mosconi is another superb wine from Pio Cesare. Dark red fruit, iron, white pepper, incense, tobacco, licorice, dried herbs and rose petal all hit the palate. This brawny Barolo captures all the structural intensity of Mosconi so well. The more classic style Pio Cesare favors these days goes a long way in balancing much of that intense, unbridled power.
