“This is stylish, with a solid structure and plum and cherry flavors polished by toasty oak. Elements of baking spices, leather and underbrush complement the fruit as this glides to a long finish. Merlot. Drink now through 2028.”

“Macerated blackberry, cherry, plum and tar flavors highlight this intense, muscular red. The structure is solid and compact, but gains elegance and length with air. Decant now, or age for two or three years. Cabernet Sauvignon and Sangiovese. Best from 2020 through 2032.”

“A firm and very silky wine with beautiful, blueberry, violet and lavender aromas and flavors. Medium body, integrated tannins and a long and flavorful finish. A blend of cabernet franc, syrah and merlot. From biodynamically grown grapes. Drink or hold.”

“Like the annata, Querciabella’s Riserva is a blend from their vineyards in Greve, Gaiole and Radda-in-Chianti. However, this is a selection of the best lots, and only 5,000 bottles were produced in 2014. The nose is gorgeous, exhibiting anise, sweet mint, cinnamon and tobacco aromas. Modern yet not overdone, it possesses a lovely texture with powdery tannins and great concentration, while the freshness of the vintage shines through. This has the bones for cellaring.”
