Based on 100% Merlot from 8.5 hectares of vines on gravelly, clay, and silt soils, the 2023 Château Lafleur-Gazin is a ripe, expressive Pomerol with loads of spicy red and black fruits, smoky tobacco, chocolate, and nicely integrated oak. It's medium to full-bodied, has a layered, nicely concentrated mouthfeel, supple tannins, and just a charming, balanced, pleasure-bent style that's already impossible to resist. Drink this complex, beautifully layered Pomerol over the coming 20 years or more. Drink 2026-2045.

A classy 2023 Pomerol, the 2023 Château Bourgneuf offers ripe black cherries, melted chocolate, smoke, and roasted herbs on the nose. Based on 85% Merlot and 15% Cabernet Franc and aged 12 months in 35% new French oak, it's medium-bodied and concentrated on the palate, with solid tannins, a nicely balanced, layered mouthfeel, and outstanding length. Give it 2-3 years of bottle age and enjoy over the following 15 years or so. Drink 2028-2043.

Based on 60% Cabernet Sauvignon, 30% Merlot, 5% Cabernet Franc, and 5% Petit Verdot and aged in 50% new French oak, the 2023 Pichon Comtesse Réserve is a beautiful second wine offering darker currants, fresh black cherries, smoky tobacco, and spicy wood aromatics. It's medium-bodied and has a pure, layered, balanced mouthfeel, ripe, present tannins, and outstanding length. Drink this over the coming 15+ years. Drink 2026-2041.

Based on 90% Merlot and 10% Cabernet Franc from 4.5 hectares of vines on blue clay and more iron-rich gravelly soils and aged 16-18 months in 50% new French oak, the 2023 Château Hosanna is absolutely gorgeous and one of the finest vintages from this château that I can remember. Crème de cassis, ripe black cherries, spice wood, chocolate, and flowery nuances define the aromatics, and it's rich and medium to full-bodied on the palate, with a seamless, layered, sensationally textured mouthfeel, polished, velvety tannins, and a great finish. It's just a classic, deep, layered, magical Pomerol that flirts with perfection. Hide bottles for 7-8 years if you can, and it will shine over the following 30 years or more. Drink 2033-2063.

Crisp and a bit showy but appealing for its rich Asian pear, lemon, yeast roll and toasted spice flavors. Chardonnay and Pinot Noir. Drink now.
