“Dark and winey, this is a bit backward and will need time to unwind the dark currant, fig and plum cake flavors, coated by a broad swath of bittersweet cocoa and tar. A slightly burly baker's chocolate note at the very end adds to the grippy feel. Best from 2032 through 2042.”

“A hint of toast lingers through the lemon oil, peach and melon flavors of this crisp, medium-bodied white, with notes of mineral, spice and heather emerging on the long finish. Rabigato, Viosinho, Côdega, Arinto and Gouveio. Drink now through 2023.”

“A fresh, full-bodied red, featuring glossy tannins that encase the black cherry, violet and black currant notes, infused with anise, graphite and spice accents. The structured finish offers black tea and toast elements. Touriga Nacional, Touriga Francesa and Tinta Barroca. Drink now through 2026.”

“Pure and racy in feel, with a stream of violet, cassis and plum puree notes leading the way, flanked by subtle anise and alder details. A graphite spine through the finish keeps all the elements grounded on the finish. Rock-solid. Best from 2032 through 2045.”

“A generously textured wine, this has great tannins as well as powerful black fruits. Its ripeness has a shot of acidity to keep it fresh while it ages. It is certainly on the dry side, very firm at the end and needing time. Drink from 2032.”
