“Call it a down year if you must, but the 2021 Cotes de Provence Rose Chateau de Selle remains one of the region's top wines. Scents of tangerine, peach, crushed stone and lime zest mark the nose, while the medium-bodied palate is plump and juicy, finishing long and layered. The assemblage this year is 55% Grenache, 30% Cinsault, 10% Mourvèdre and 5% Syrah.”

“Pale orange. Displays an array of intensely perfumed red berry and citrus fruit aromas. Along with suggestions of honeysuckle, nectarine and fennel. Juicy and seamless in texture, giving deep pit fruit and raspberry flavors and a bracing touch of orange pith. Echoes the floral note on a wonderfully long, smooth finish that leaves a hint of honey behind.”

“Limpid orange. A sharply focused, mineral-accented bouquet evokes fresh red berries and pit fruits, citrus pith and pungent flowers. Silky and penetrating on the palate, offering tangy redcurrant, pomegranate and blood orange flavors and a hint of honeysuckle. The floral note builds steadily through an impressively long, nervy finish that echoes the citrus and mineral notes.”

“Shimmering, onion skin color. Intense red berry, citrus fruit and floral aromas, along with building suggestions of succulent herbs and dusty minerals. Sappy and penetrating on the palate, offering concentrated strawberry, orange pith and honeysuckle flavors that slowly deepen and take on a peachy nuance with aeration. Finishes impressively long and focused, with a repeating mineral note and a late hint of tarragon.”

“Pretty floral aromas are backed by fresh citrus and pomelo notes with a touch of candied fennel seeds. On the palate, behind the austere, slightly chalky white fruit, there is a darker, intense, perfumed raspberry, cherry and concentrated blackcurrant fruit which gives weight. It finishes with an almost inky-dark minerality - shouting out La Londe terroir and the Mourvèdre coming forward. Concentrated with fresh linear elegance and a hit of salinity and blood orange on the finish. This hot vintage had slightly more fruit from Clos Mireille.”
