“A beautifully composed wine boasting perfumed, waxy, white floral aromas through layers of fruit, oak and acidity. There’s fresh fruitiness up front with crisp white pears and sweet, spiced apple compote, alongside honeyed florals, giving ripe, silky smoothness and an elegant purity of fruit. The oak is very subtly present, creating a richness and creaminess, and then the freshness kicks in. Full of perfumed Sorrento lemons, crunchy green apples, saline citrus acidity, firm minerality and some bitter almond oaky phenolics on the finish. Beautiful length, with a combination of precision and opulent charm.”

“Very stylish, with underlying richness to the mix of wet hay, white peach, lemon pith and pink grapefruit. Reveals a late twinge of fleur de sel, which keeps everything honest through the lengthy finish. Grenache, Cinsault and Syrah. Drink now.”

“Seamlessly stitches together jasmine, pink grapefruit, tangerine, rose water and a savory accent, with a subtle twinge of fleur de sel adding a counterpoint to the lengthy finish. Graceful, but with nice underlying tension throughout. Grenache, Cinsault, Syrah and Mourvèdre. Drink now through 2023.”

“Very juicy yet restrained in style, with a core of peach, jasmine, white cherry and rosemary backed by a long finish, which ripples with a wet stone note. Mourvèdre, Cinsault and Grenache. Drink now through 2023.”

“Call it a down year if you must, but the 2021 Cotes de Provence Rose Chateau de Selle remains one of the region's top wines. Scents of tangerine, peach, crushed stone and lime zest mark the nose, while the medium-bodied palate is plump and juicy, finishing long and layered. The assemblage this year is 55% Grenache, 30% Cinsault, 10% Mourvèdre and 5% Syrah.”
