The 2022 Pinot Noir Les Princes Abbées is picked in the Bollenebrg with a smaller portion in the Grand Cru Saering. It had 12 days of cuvaison and was matured in foudre. Bright, vibrant berry has inflections of darker fruit of the forest, coming across almost like candy. The palate is plush with ripe berry fruit and cherry. A smoky edge of fine tannins spreads velvety richness and an overtone of licorice. This is a sumptuous iteration of the famous Princes Abbées. (Bone-dry)

This dry, broad-shouldered version has developed nicely over the years, revealing ample minerality with finely layered flavors of papaya, melon, star fruit and ground white pepper. The finish is long and inviting. It is powerful and heavy, but driven by piercing acidity that should help this go the distance.

Fresh Asian pear, white peach, acacia honey and lemon aromas. It’s bright, dry and medium-bodied with floral and mineral elements. Minerally and pristine finish. Always has 30% grand cru fruit. Drink now.

From a very early, rather cold vintage according to Séverine Schlumberger, the 2017 Riesling Le Clos Saint-Léger Grand Cru Monopole offers a clear, fresh, pure, subtle and finely mineral or stony bouquet representing the volcanic terroir of the Grand Cru Kitterlé. The wine shows very delicate and elegant Riesling fruit intermingled with crunchy stone aromas. On the palate, this is a pure, dense, straight and textural Riesling with good and refreshing phenolic grip that gives persistent tension. The structured finish is intense and long. This is an excellent wine from Schlumberger. 13.77% alcohol.

Dainty apricot aromas are bolstered by scents of lemon zest and ocean spray. While this wine is defined by lemony acidity, its texture is soft, creating an overall impression that's friendly and welcoming. Minerality leads into a long finish that hints at petrol qualities. This wine could easily spend a few years in the cellar to let those characteristics develop. But those who don't want to wait will find a friendly, sunny wine that perfectly balances racy citrus zest, saline mineral notes and a bit of soft, juicy stone fruit.
