Citrus and Granny Smith apple flavors open up this light white. The midpalate shows good vibrancy and savory mineral element on the moderate finish.

Made from organic grapes and weighing in at a modest 12 percent stated alcohol, the lithe Domaines Schlumberger 2021 Pinot Noir “Les Princes Abbés” dances on the palate.  Like the head of Janus, it displays both the aromatic red fruitiness and leafy nuances, the hallmark of fine Pinot Noir

Still tightly wound and coiled despite its age, this opens to reveal lemon, warm hay, fennel seed and paprika notes. Leesy on the palate, offering an oily texture and a lash of beeswax, with sweet spice details adding intrigue. Good length. Drink now through 2030.

The 2022 Pinot Noir Les Princes Abbées is picked in the Bollenebrg with a smaller portion in the Grand Cru Saering. It had 12 days of cuvaison and was matured in foudre. Bright, vibrant berry has inflections of darker fruit of the forest, coming across almost like candy. The palate is plush with ripe berry fruit and cherry. A smoky edge of fine tannins spreads velvety richness and an overtone of licorice. This is a sumptuous iteration of the famous Princes Abbées. (Bone-dry)
