“A savory version, displaying macerated cherry and currant fruit aligned with eucalyptus, rosemary and earth flavors. Dense and lively, ending with a solid grip of tannins. Fresh and on the austere side. Best from 2026 through 2042.”

“An inviting red, offering ripe plum, cherry, earth, eucalyptus, iron and tobacco flavors. Turns denser and slightly chewy on the finish, where earth and vegetal elements echo. All the components are here, so be patient. Best from 2027 through 2047.”

“Centered on cherry and raspberry fruit, this red is ripe yet vibrant, with a solid underlying structure. Gains depth from iron, licorice and tar notes, while a saline thread emerges on the long, intense finish. Ripe, with a sense of restraint -- an intriguing combination. Best from 2027 through 2045.”

“Packed with cherry, raspberry, floral and mineral aromas and flavors, this red is reserved yet harmonious and structured, revealing iron, tobacco and underbrush notes that add complexity on the long, dense aftertaste. Best from 2026 through 2045.”

“The Pio Cesare 2019 Barolo Mosconi (with 6,685 bottles and larger formats on the market) offers the structure and length of Nebbiolo from Monforte d'Alba. You also get a salty mineral tone or rusty iron that frames a core of wild berry and blackcurrant. The Mosconi always appears very linear and direct to me, and that special sharpness is what I like best about this vintage.”
