Querciabella, which translates to beautiful oak, was founded in 1974 by Mita’s father, Milan-based entrepreneur and art collector Giuseppe "Pepito" Castiglioni. His love for art could only be rivaled by his passion for wine, and the rise of Super Tuscan wines in the 1970s fueled his ambition to produce a great wine that could compete with the bottles he grew to love.

As the family celebrates Querciabella's 50th vintage, the legacy of the Castiglioni family securely rests in the hands of Mita Castiglioni, sister of Sebastiano and eldest daughter of Pepito. Mita—an entrepreneur in her own right—has brought a new perspective and continuity to the company. Fueled by Pepito’s vision, Querciabella remains steadfast in its dedication to crafting exceptional wines imbued with vibrancy and character, all while preserving the harmony of nature’s delicate balance.
