All destemmed and raised in barrel with 20% new, the 2022 Saint Joseph Sainte-Epine comes from a cooler, decomposed granite terroir just north of Tournon. It offers pure cassis and black raspberry fruits as well as spicy oak, crushed stone, and dried flowers. It's medium to full-bodied, concentrated, has perfect balance, fine tannins, and a great finish. It's a brilliant example of the vintage and will keep for 15+ years. Drink 2025-2040.

The 2022 Côte Rôtie La Landonne is a much more singular wine and just screams La Landonne with its smoky, meaty profile. Darker black fruits, graphite, crushed stone, leather, and woodsmoke all emerge from the glass, and it's medium to full-bodied, has a pure, layered, elegant mouthfeel, ripe tannins, and a great finish. It's very much in the style of the vintage and will benefit from just a few years of bottle age and cruise for two decades. Drink 2026-2046.

Just about all Marsanne and vinified and aged in 50% new barrels with malo blocked, the 2023 Hermitage Domaine Des Tourettes Blanc has a sensational bouquet of fresh quince, peach, white flowers, and crushed stone. Coming from the lower portion of the Bessards and the Le Grandes Vignes lieux-dits, it has medium to full-bodied richness, a concentrated yet ripe style, integrated acidity, and a great finish.
