“This smooth, ripe and inviting wine wafts raspberry, strawberry and cherry aromas and offers all that fruit in the flavors as well. While full bodied and rich in texture, it also has an appetizing vein of good acidity that slices through the palate and finish.”

“Winemaker Heidi von der Mehden is doing a terrific job keeping the standards high with this iconic label. ... It's an instant Russian River classic, showing terrific dark berry fruit, conifer, and sweet cedar aromas. There's plenty of grip and sappy tannins on entry with a coiled-up energy that reveals lovely mixed berry fruits, clove, and a tangy blood orange acidity. The long juicy finish is punctuated by brandied black cherries and flamed orange peel. Imminently refreshing.”

“Always big and loaded with finesse, the gorgeous 2021 Merry Edwards ‘Russian River Valley’ Sauvignon Blanc is a superlative effort by the talented Heidi Van Der Mehden. Very soft upon entry, this leads with nutmeg infused honeydew melon, cashew nut, salted brioche and suggestions of nectarine pie, displaying both a dazzling mineralogy and a downright unctuous texture. Truly a complete wine, enjoy this beauty at a slightly warmer temperature to take in the full range of flavors and aromatics. Drink 2022-2030.”

“The 2020 Pinot Noir Sonoma Coast is ripe with raspberry candy, crushed rose petal, and turned earth. The tannins in the 2020 are a touch more present and emerge on the finish, and it also has more warmth. Drink this over the next 10 years.”

“An aromatic nose of stone fruit, fresh tropical fruit and jasmine. Full-bodied with a nice, oily texture. Fruity and lightly honeyed on the palate. Lavender and lily. Steely. Loire-like. Always an excellent sauvignon blanc. Drink or hold.”
