This rich, medium- to full-bodied white is buoyed by vivid acidity, with flavors of kiwifruit, green pear and mandarin orange peel accented by fine details of fresh tarragon, salted almond, lemon curd and honeycomb. Well-meshed, with a pleasing, raw silk–like texture and a long, minerally finish. Pinot Bianco, Friulano and Sauvignon. Drink now through 2030.

“Picolit, a grape native to Italy's northeastern Friuli region, is named for its inability to fully pollinate, forming only small (piccolo) bunches of concentrated white grapes. So these grapes are designated to only passito-style sweet wines. Wines made from Picolit are considered "vino da meditazione," wines not for food, but to drink and contemplate due to their complexity. And Livio Felluga knows how to coax out said complexity so well. This wine is only made in the best years, and the 2015 vintage is incredible. Almonds, apricots, and salted caramel fill the senses on the nose. It has an exceptional, focused palate that finds the optimal balance between sweetness and acidity.”

The 2019 Abbazia di Rosazzo is more delicate and nuanced, with dusty dried flowers, crushed almonds and sweet smoke forming its bouquet. It's silky yet nearly weightless in feel, hovering across the palate with a saline-tinged blend of white pit fruits and inner florals. This leaves a coating of minerality while finishing with a lovely tension, leaving flinty notes of liquid stone and Bosc pear. The Abbazia di Rosazzo is an understated beauty.

“The 2020 Bianco Illivio is savory and intense, captivating with a rich mix of rosemary, gingery spice and lemon oils. It greets the palate with a pleasant inner sweetness up front as a dense wave of texturally ripe orchard fruits and candied citrus tones coats all they touch in opulent concentration. Through it all, a core of brisk acidity and salty minerals maintains a lovely balance as the 2020 finishes youthfully grippy and long, leaving sour citrus nuances that seem to last up to a minute. This powerful rendition of Bianco Illivio will require a short stay in the cellar to come fully into focus. It's a blend of Pinot Bianco, Chardonnay and Picolit.”

In the local dialect, Curubella means 'rounded uplands' and describes the land where this massal selection of Pinot Grigio vines was planted in 1981. This traditional ramato style of Pinot Grigio spends two days on the skins for a delicate copper hue and subtle texture, and matures in cocciopesto amphorae - a mix of sand, gravel and clay used for thousands of years - for a completely neutral yet oxidative vessel. The result is fragrant and leesy in aroma, with an intense, creamy and bright palate of green fruits, soft melon, subtle yellow fruits and a floral, lifted finish with more creaminess.
