A chardonnay-dominant, fresh and vibrant wine with aromas of sliced pears, wildflowers, citrus blossoms and wet stones. The plate shows fresh acidity, minerality and subtle, pleasing notes of fresh bread. Citrus juice and peel in the finish. Lovely, easygoing and pleasurable. Mainly 2021 vintage. Disgorged July 2024. Good value. Drink or hold.

Deep purple-hued and the second wine of this reference point domaine, the 2023 Napanook offers classic currants, leafy tobacco, graphite, and underbrush notes in a medium-bodied, very pretty, pure, elegant, and graceful style. Based on 92% Cabernet Sauvignon, 4% Cabernet Franc, and 4% Petit Verdot and aged 20 months in 20% new French oak, it has ripe and polished tannins, perfectly integrated acidity, and a great finish. This classic, classy Cabernet will keep for 10-15 years. Drink 2025-2040.

The third wine of this great estate (and made in reasonable quantities), the 2023 Othello is a pretty, Bordeaux-like effort with juicy black cherry, leather, and tobacco notes in a medium-bodied, charming, deliciously balanced, satisfying style. Based on 89% Cabernet Sauvignon and 11% Petit Verdot and aged 18 months in 20% new French oak, it's best enjoyed over the coming 7-8 years. Drink 2025-2033.
