The 2021 Brunello di Montalcino Campo del Drago is intense, with ashen stone, exotic spices, incense and dried flowers. Lifted and graceful, it offers remarkably pretty red and blue fruits with a wave of fresh acidity. A nice contrast of edgy tannins and sour citrus frames the finish as violet inner florals slowly fade.

The 2023 Othello is a tasty entry-level bottling from the front blocks on the property, those on either side of Hopper Creek. Juicy dark red fruit, cinnamon, new leather and cedar are pushed forward in this delicious, effortless Cabernet Sauvignon. Best of all, this should be a fabulous value, too.

Lithe and graceful, this red plays cherry and strawberry fruit and white pepper against balsamic notes of eucalyptus and menthol. Firms up on the finish, where dense tannins leave their grip. Best from 2028 through 2043.

The nose opens with floral, saline aromas of peonies and violets, then turns savory with hot tar and herbs, then finishes sweet with citrus and cherries. Cherries and berries headline the palate, alongside a strong blood orange element and soil strewn with crushed flower petals and herbs. Tannins are very firm.

Here stands a legend that helped put Friuli on the map. The aromatics roll and evolve in the glass: ripe cut peach mingles with fresh apple and a citrus medley of lemon, lime and orange. Subtle oak spices hover in the background like a whisper, accompanied by delicate yellow flowers and magnolia blossoms. The palate unfolds luxuriously... first tropical fruit notes gracefully transition into tangy citrus cream. Everything stays elegant and poised through the finish thanks to perfectly pitched acidity.
