“Lovely perfumes of flowers, fresh strawberries and raspberries follow through to a medium- to full-bodied palate with fine tannins that run the length of the wine. Citrus and spice undertones. Finishes long and intense. Tannic finish. Start drinking after 2026.”

“Boldly fruit-driven, this is charismatic, smooth and moreish Nebbiolo. Wow! It’s rare to get such a downright “gluggable” Nebbiolo at this wildly young age. This is powerfully fruit-driven with oodles of bramble, field strawberry and ripe red plum. The high alcohol lingers a bit on the back palate, but there is so much fruit that it is not distracting. There are hints of oak spice, toast and tea leaves that ripple through the fruit flavors and add complexity. Delicious already, this has the high fruit density and well-balanced structure to last easily for two decades.”

“Pale raspberry at the core, this wine has an attractively delicate nose of field strawberries, rose petals and savory spice. The palate has feather-soft tannins and riveting, spine-straightening acidity. The structure meshes nicely with the bountiful fruit character. While there’s a hint of a high alcohol tingle in the background, the fruit tastes remarkably fresh. Unusually, this is a very drinkable Nebbiolo, despite its notably youthful character.”

“The 2020 Barbera D'Alba Superiore Fides Vigna Mosconi is rich with mineral earth of graphite, delicate smoke, plum liqueur, and black raspberry. It is medium-bodied, but has rich concentration, more structure, and freshness and lift throughout, with notes of red plum and turned earth as well as a crunchy texture. Drink 2024-2032.”

“The 2020 Langhe Chardonnay Piodilei is ripe and flinty, with ripe peach, smoke, and lemon curd. Fresh and medium to full-bodied, with a round texture and fresh citrus pith and saline, it offers notes of banana peel, honeycomb, and light baking spice. A clean and lovely wine, it could appeal to lovers of New World styles who are just being introduced to Italian wines. Drink 2023-2030.”
